One dead in Midland Park house fire

MIDLAND PARK, NJ – Police have reported one person has died, and several others were hospitalized after a fire broke out at a residence on Franklin Avenue in Midland Park.

At around 6:30 pm, on Thursday, firefighters and police responded to multiple 911 calls regarding a house fire.

Neighboring fire companies assisted the Midland Park Fire Department in suppressing the fire. Responders located a deceased resident on the first floor of the home.

Other injured occupants were treated at Valley Hospital in Ridgewood. Their injuries and condition are unknown.


An investigation is being conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love and the Midland Park Police Department under the direction of Chief Michael Powderley.
