MILTON, DE – One person is in critical condition after a serious motor vehicle accident on Harbeson Road in Milton, according to the Delaware State Police

A 2003 Mercedes-Benz E-320 driven by a 20-year-old male was traveling at an excessive speed on Harbeson Road, just north of Diamond Farm Road, at approximately 12:30 a.m.

As the Mercedes approached and exited the east edge of Harbeson Road, it failed to negotiate a gradual right curve, striking a stop sign at the intersection of Diamond Farm Road and Harbeson Road.

Despite being properly restrained, the 20-year-old male driver of the Mercedes from Milton, DE was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.

Harbeson Road was closed for approximately 4 hours.
