Manchester police searching for shoplifter who fled from officers

MANCHESTER, NJ – Police in Manchester are searching for a suspect in an alleged shoplifting incident that fled police upon their arrival Monday night.

According to police, at around 7 pm, a shoplifting incident occurred at Dollar General.

Store employees reported the suspect shoplifted multiple items from the store. When officers arrived on scene and approached the suspect, he fled on foot across State Highway 70 and into a nearby patch of woods. Police lost contact with the suspect.
