Driver of stolen vehicle crashed into double-parked car

Essex, MD – A stolen 2015 Ford Escape was recovered by police after the driver crashed into a double-parked car in Essex on Thursday. The car was reported stolen days earlier just three blocks away.

According to police, at approximately 10:15 p.m., the driver of a Chevrolet Cobalt was double parked in the 900 block of Bayner Road.

“As the driver of the Cobalt was speaking with two pedestrians, the Cobalt was struck from behind by a Silver 2015 Ford Escape that had been reported stolen from the unit block of Marice Circle on February 13 in Baltimore County,” police said. “As the driver of the Ford Escape fled the scene, the vehicle became disabled, and the driver then fled on foot. Both pedestrians (adult man and juvenile), as well as the adult male driver of the Cobalt, were injured in the crash and taken to area hospitals.”


The juvenile was listed in critical condition.
