BALTIMORE, MD – A Baltimore CPA in the middle of tax season says she plays lottery scratch-off tickets for fun. This week, her calculations paid off after she won $100,000 top prize on a Maryland Lottery In the Money instant ticket.

The unidentified CPA said her career choice will help her maximize her winnings come tax day next year.

“I play just about every day,” the 60-ish certified public accountant explained. “It’s always a lot of fun for me, especially when I win.”

Prior to the jackpot win, her biggest winning was just $500.

“I couldn’t believe it.” A friend suggested that she go to the nearest Lottery retailer to confirm her good luck. “I was shaking as I ran the ticket through the scanner. When the $100,000 appeared, I let out a little scream!”

She purchased the $100,000 top-prize winning In The Money scratch-off from Discount Cigarettes at 5716 Ritchie Highway in Brooklyn Park. Management there will receive a $1,000 bonus from the Lottery for selling the top-prize winner.
