Urgent care doctor arrested in North Jersey

COLONIA, NJ – A New Jersey urgent care doctor was arrested and charged with criminal contact by Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Chief Lawrence Cattano of the Perth Amboy Police Department.

According to Prosecutor Ciccone, Dr. Gurvindra Johal, 55, of Colonia, was arrested and charged following an investigation involving women alleging that Dr. Johal touched them inappropriately while under his care at Amboy Urgent Care, located at 469 Cornell Street, Perth Amboy.

Few details were released regarding the accusations against Dr. Johal. He was charged with criminal sexual contact.


Police are asking any other potential victims to contact Detective Lauren Leyva of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victim’s Unit at 732-745-4499 or Detective Gina Betancourt of the Perth Amboy Police Department at 732-324-3819.
