Lonegan says he’s out, goes off the radar after latest election defeat

Phil Stilton

BOGOTA, NJ – Steve Lonegan had no chance at securing the GOP nomination for State Senate in the 24th legislative district. Everyone knew this except Steve Lonegan and those who still work his troubled political campaigns.

After officially losing the nomination, Lonegan tapped out.

“I terminated my campaign this past Sunday, I am out,” he said.

Then he vanished, like always, without a trace. It’s Lonegan’s signature play. Make loud noise, make a scene, and never return to the scene of the crime.

Instead, the 24th district GOP committee endorsed Parker Space, a well respected Republican who yes, has a few tattoos, but gets the job done.

Space is now expected to run unopposed in the primary election in June.
