18-year-old charged for shooting in Glen Burnie

GLEN BURNIE, MD – Police have arrested a suspect in a shooting incident that took place this weekend in Glen Burnie.

At about 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, Anne Arundel Police Department officers in Glen Burnie responded to a shooting report in the 500 block of Kuethe Road.

According to witnesses, Andrew Canova,18, fired one round from a handgun at a female victim as she attempted to enter the house after a physical assault


During their investigation, officers found a spent shell casing and a hole in the brick next to the front door.

Canova fled the scene prior to police arrival. A ‘be on the lookout’ BOLO alert was issued for Canova.

“A short time later, officers observed the suspect driving in the Ritchie Highway and Georgia Avenue area, where the suspect failed to stop,” AACPD said. “After the suspect came to a halt near the Baltimore Washington Parkway and Interstate 195 West, the suspect was arrested and charged accordingly. He was taken into custody without further incident.”
