Car carrier fire slows traffic on New Jersey Turnpike

CHERRY HILL, NJ – A tractor-trailer carrying several cars burst into flames on the New Jersey Turnpike near mile marker 29.8 in the area of Cherry Hill last week.

The Cherry Hill Fire Department, Runnemede Fire Department and Lanwside Fire Company all responded to the incident.

No injuries were reported.


“Last week, Cherry Hill Fire Department Squad 13, Squrt 1341, Battalion 13 along with Runnemede Fire Department Squad 7 and Engine 7 responded to the New Jersey Turnpike Southbound, mile marker 28.8 for a well involved vehicle carrier firem,” the Cherry Hill Fire Department reported. The Lawnside Fire Department was also on standby for an additional water supply.”
