ESSEX, MD – Officers from the Maryland Department of Natural Resources Police Department are asking the public to assist them in identifying an empty kayak found this weekend near the Middle River Yacht Club.
The kayak was found floating in the Middle River at around 4 pm on Sunday. It was described as a blue, white, and yellow 8-foot long Tropic II Islander kayak.
Police were unable to find any identifying information regarding the kayak an are asking the public to assist in finding its owner.
At this time, police did not indicate whether or not the incident involves a missing kayaker. No reports of missing persons have been filed and there is no evidence to suggest it at this time.
