Police investigating suspicious death in Astoria

QUEENS, NY – Detectives with the New York City Police Department’s 114th Precinct are investigating a possible homicide in Astoria Queens.

On Tuesday, a 61-year-old man was found unconscious and unresponsive inside his residence at21-15 35th Avenue. EMS units responded and pronounced the man deceased shortly after 6:45 pm.

“Upon arrival police found a 61-year-old male with blood coming from his mouth and no other visible signs of trauma,” the department reported Tuesday night.  “The Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death and the investigation and the investigation is ongoing.”

The identity of the deceased is pending family notification.
