Police asking public for assistance in solving Paterson shooting incident

PATERSON, NEW JERSEY – Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Bert Ribeiro announced that on March 6, 2023, at approximately 12:45 p.m., members of the Paterson Police Department responded to a shooting report near River Street and 6th Avenue. Upon arrival, officers found a 47-year-old male Paterson resident with a non-fatal gunshot wound. The victim was immediately transported to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson, New Jersey for treatment. Further investigation revealed that the shooting occurred in the area of Lyon Street and Rosa Parks Boulevard.

The investigation remains active and ongoing, with more information to be released as it becomes available.
