Georgetown Man Arrested for Felony DUI Following Vehicle Pursuit in Bridgeville

BRIDGEVILLE, DE – Early yesterday morning, Delaware State Police arrested 48-year-old Rodney Hearn of Georgetown for felony DUI and multiple offenses after a vehicle pursuit in Bridgeville. At around 1:23 a.m., a trooper witnessed Hearn failing to signal properly while driving a silver 2004 Kia Spectra. The trooper attempted to stop Hearn, who instead sped away, leading to a pursuit that ended on Tuckers Road.

Hearn displayed signs of impairment and was found with drug paraphernalia and approximately .38 grams of crack cocaine, which he had attempted to destroy. A computer check revealed three prior DUI convictions. Hearn was taken to Troop 5 and charged with 4th Offense DUI, disregarding a Police Officer Signal, Tampering with Physical Evidence, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and several traffic violations.

He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 3 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $15,211 cash bond.
