15-year-old robbed while trying to sell his PS5 to suspect with counterfeit cash

BROOKLYN, NY – A 15-year-old was robbed after he realized he was being scammed while trying to sell his PS5 gaming console in Brooklyn’s Midwood neighborhood.

The robbery took place on Wednesday inside the lobby a building near Avenue M and Ocean Avenue. The 15-year-old male victim met with an unknown male to sell his PS5 system.

During the exchange, the suspect handed the teen $500, which he realized to be counterfeit.

A struggle ensued as the boy tried to get his property back, but he was shoved to the ground and the suspect fled with the console.



He then fled in a black sedan eastbound on Ocean Avenue. The suspect was described as a male, 6’0” in height, and approximately 150 lbs. He was last seen wearing a black skullcap, gray hoodie, pants, and jacket.
