Police investigating fatal shooting in Allentown

ALLENTOWN, PA – On Thursday, at around 7:40 pm, Allentown Police responded to a report of a shooting in the area of the 500 block of North 4th Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered an adult victim suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was immediately transported to a nearby hospital for treatment but later succumbed to their injuries.

Authorities are actively investigating the incident, with the involvement of the Allentown Police Criminal Investigations Division, the Lehigh County Homicide Task Force, the Lehigh County District Attorney’s office, and the Lehigh County Coroner’s office. At this time, there is no known physical danger to the community, and the identification of the deceased is pending notification of next of kin.
