Police investigating New York City subway slashing

NEW YORK, NY – A 30-year-old man was slashed across the neck while riding the northbound R train as it approached the DeKalb Avenue and Flatbush Avenue subway station.

Police said the attack happened at around 9:00 am on Thursday.

As the train approached the subway station, an unidentified male individual approached the victim and slashed him along the left side of the neck. The attack was unprovoked.


The suspect then exited the train and fled the scene. The victim was taken to Methodist Hospital for treatment.

The suspect was described as a male with a dark complexion, approximately 20 years of age, 5’10” tall, slim build, black hair with dreadlocks, and was last seen wearing a light gray hooded sweater, black jacket, dark pants, and white and black sneakers.
