Newark Police Seek Public’s Help Identifying Armed Robbery Suspect

NEWARK, NJ – Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé requests the public’s help in identifying an armed robbery suspect who targeted a business in the 500 block of Orange Street on Saturday. The suspect brandished a handgun, demanded cash, and fled in a black vehicle with a temporary tag after taking money from the cash register.

The suspect is described as a dark-skinned Black male, 5’9″ tall with a medium build, wearing black and white Nike sneakers, a black jacket, hat, face mask, and blue jeans. Anyone with information about the suspect’s identity is urged to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477) or submit an anonymous tip through the Police Division’s website or Smartphone App.
