Philadelphia Man Convicted and Sentenced for 2020 Shooting, Receives 20-40 Years of State Incarceration

PHILADELPHIA, PA – Yesterday, District Attorney Larry Krasner announced the conviction and sentencing of Quashaad James, 27, of Levittown, PA, for the shooting and wounding of a paramour’s ex-boyfriend and another individual in December 2020. James was found guilty after a waiver trial of all charges, including Attempted Murder, Aggravated Assault, Possession of an Instrument of Crime, and related illegal firearm violations. The Hon. Roxanne Covington sentenced James on March 16 to 20-40 years of state incarceration.

During the incident on December 13, 2020, James confronted a woman and her ex-boyfriend on the 3700 block of N. Marshall Street. In a fit of rage, James shot the ex-boyfriend three times in the back and wounded another individual in the leg. The crime gun was never recovered. Assistant District Attorney Angela Brennan secured the conviction using witness testimonies.
