BRICK TOWNSHIP, NJ – Police in Brick are continuing to investigate a reported gun threat at a school in Brick Township. According to police, a parent reported statements made by unnamed individuals on SnapChat and a photo of what appeared to be a gun.

Police, working closely with school officials, identified the suspect and searched the student’s home. No guns were found in the home. Detectives do not believe there is any imminent threat to the school, Lake Riveria Middle School or students.

The object in the SnapChat message appears to be a lighter, according to police.

Brick Police Chief David Forrester thanked school officials and the parent who alerted police and promised to continue investigating all potential threats.
