Woman Fatally Shot in Capitol Heights, Police Seek Suspect

CAPITOL HEIGHTS, MD – The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit is seeking the public’s help to identify and arrest the suspect(s) responsible for the fatal shooting of 62-year-old Lidia Chinchilla De Carrillo on Tuesday night.

At approximately 9:10 pm on Tuesday, officers responded to the 600 block of Drum Avenue after reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they found Chinchilla De Carrillo suffering from a gunshot wound. She was transported to a hospital and later succumbed to her injuries. Detectives are working to identify a suspect(s) and determine a motive for the shooting.

A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in the case.
