13-Year-Old Stabbed in Upland Borough Park; Suspect In Custody

UPLAND, PA – Yesterday, at around 5:33 pm, the Upland Borough Police Department received a report of a 13-year-old girl stabbed in a borough park. Responding officers located the victim, who had been stabbed once in the stomach and once in the back.

The victim and witnesses reported that the suspect, a 13-year-old male known to the victim, approached her in the park without provocation and stabbed her twice. The suspect fled the area on foot but was later apprehended in the 1400 block of Kerlin Street by Chester City and Parkside Borough Police.

The juvenile suspect from the 2000 block of 9th Street, Chester City, was charged via a juvenile petition with aggravated assault, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, and possession of an instrument of crime. The victim is expected to make a full recovery, and the community is relieved by the swift apprehension of the suspect.
