Buffalo Trio Face Charges for Violent Armed Robbery

BUFFALO, NY – The Buffalo Police Department announced the arrests of three individuals in connection with a violent armed robbery that took place on Saturday, at the intersection of Curtiss and Newton Streets. A 26-year-old female from North Tonawanda was reportedly accosted by three male subjects, who proceeded to rob her.

One of the suspects, identified as Julian Kennedy, 23, of Buffalo, allegedly brandished a pistol before striking the female victim in the head with the weapon, causing her physical injury. Another suspect, Elijah McDonald, 22, also of Buffalo, reportedly displayed a knife before breaking a car window with the hilt and slashing a tire on the vehicle. Police indicated that one of the suspects was known to the victim.

Officers from the Ferry-Fillmore district were able to identify and apprehend the three suspects. Julian Kennedy faces charges of Robbery in the First Degree and Assault in the Second Degree. Elijah McDonald has been charged with Robbery in the First Degree and Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree. The third suspect, 22-year-old Samuel Russell of Blasdell, faces charges of Robbery in the Second Degree.


All offenders were taken into custody without incident, and the investigation is ongoing.
