NYPD Investigates Anti-Semitic Harassment Incidents in 101 Precinct

NEW YORK, NY – The New York City Police Department (NYPD) is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying individuals connected to a series of menacing and aggravated harassment incidents targeting members of the Jewish community within the confines of the 101 Precinct. The Hate Crimes Task Force is investigating both incidents.

Incident 1 occurred on Friday, at approximately 2:45 pm, when a 49-year-old male was walking near Caffrey Avenue and Mott Avenue. An unknown group of individuals began shouting anti-Semitic remarks and threw rocks at the victim. A female from the group then displayed a razor toward the victim. The suspects fled on foot when a Good Samaritan intervened. No injuries were reported.

Incident 2 took place on the same day at around 9:30 pm when a 48-year-old male was approached by an unknown group of individuals making anti-Semitic remarks near Brookhaven Avenue and Beach 17 Street. A dispute ensued, and one of the suspects pushed the victim. The suspects then fled the scene on foot, and no injuries were reported.
