Female suspect who robbed 66-year-old woman on Staten Island MTA bus arrested

STATEN ISLAND, NY – Following an ongoing investigation, the New York City Police Department has arrested 27-year-old Mahogany Coles in connection with a robbery in the 120th Precinct.

The incident took place on Monday, April 3, 2023, at approximately 9:30 pm when a 66-year-old female was robbed on a moving Sx51 MTA bus.

Coles is accused of grabbing the victim’s purse and dragging her along the floor before successfully removing the purse containing cash, credit cards, and other miscellaneous items.

Coles fled the scene on foot and has been charged with robbery and assault. The victim sustained swelling from the incident and sought medical attention privately.
