Laurel resident killed in shooting, Delaware State Police launch homicide investigation

LAUREL, DE – The Delaware State Police are investigating a homicide that occurred on Friday, in the Wexford Village Apartments in Laurel. Officers responded to a shooting near the 100 block of Sunset Drive, where they discovered a victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds behind one of the apartment buildings.

The victim was transported to a local hospital and was pronounced deceased.

The victim’s identity is being withheld until family notification is made. T

he Laurel Police Department requested that the Delaware State Police Homicide Unit assume the investigation due to its nature. Detective is seeking any information regarding this case and asks anyone with details to contact Detective A. Bluto at 302-741-2859.
