Jackson Memorial girls LAX wins close game against Brick Township

JACKSON, NJ – Jackson Memorial lacrosse team pulled off a thrilling overtime victory against Brick Township in a high-scoring match that ended 15-14. The intense match saw both teams putting in a great effort with each having their fair share of scoring opportunities.

The match kicked off with both teams scoring seven goals each in the first quarter. Brick Township scored their goals through the combined efforts of Abby Anfuso, Clare Ashe, Skyler Freschi, Reese Achille, and Mia Zdanowicz. Jackson Memorial’s defense struggled to contain Brick Township’s attackers, but they managed to score some vital goals through the efforts of Nicole Pappalardo, Riley Anders, and Sophia Devaney.

The second quarter was just as competitive as the first, with both teams scoring 14 goals each. Brick Township continued their scoring run, with Abby Anfuso and Clare Ashe adding to their tally. Jackson Memorial’s Sophia Devaney and Nicole Pappalardo were in top form, scoring eight and six goals, respectively. The half ended in a tie, with both teams showing determination to win.

In the third quarter, Jackson Memorial seemed to take control of the game, scoring a vital goal to take the lead. However, Brick Township fought back, scoring a goal to tie the game at 14-14. The match then headed into overtime, where Jackson Memorial’s Nicole Pappalardo scored a crucial goal to secure a hard-earned victory for her team.


The win improves Jackson Memorial’s record to 3-1, while Brick Township’s losing streak continues with a record of 0-4. Jackson Memorial’s goalkeeper, Kaelyn Dunbar, made some crucial saves that helped her team secure the victory, while Molly O’Brien of Brick Township also made some notable saves despite conceding 15 goals.


Both teams displayed excellent skills and teamwork, making the match an exciting one to watch for the fans. It was a close game, with each team fighting tooth and nail for the win. Ultimately, it was Jackson Memorial who came out on top with a hard-earned victory that showcased their determination and resilience.
