D.C. Armed Gunman Carjacks Vehicle With Cat Inside

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Metropolitan Police Department’s detectives request the public’s help with information about an Armed Carjacking on Monday evening at the 700 block of 7th Street in Southeast D.C.

The victim was approached by the suspects at the specified location just after 6 pm. The suspects used a handgun to intimidate and demand the victim’s car keys. The victim surrendered, and one of the suspects made off in the victim’s vehicle. The other suspect escaped in a separate vehicle. The victim’s cat was inside a red and cream-colored crate in the stolen car.

Police describe the cat as a 10-year-old domestic medium-haired cat. She answers to “Milly” or “Mini”. She is black and white with green eyes.


A nearby surveillance camera captured the vehicles. The suspects’ vehicle is described as a 2016 silver Hyundai Sonata with a Maryland tag 4EW6094. The victim’s vehicle is described as a 2020 red Toyota Highlander with a Virginia tag UCZ6685.
