DELMAR, DE – The Delaware State Police have identified and arrested Jhalir Henry, 27, as one of the suspects involved in the homicide of 18-year-old Corey Mumford in Laurel. Last Friday, the Laurel Police Department responded to a shooting near the 100 block of Sunset Drive in Wexford Village Apartments.

Officers found Mumford suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and attempted life-saving measures until EMS arrived. Mumford was then taken to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Detectives from the Delaware State Police Homicide Unit, which assumed the investigation, developed Henry as one of the suspects in Mumford’s homicide. Henry was taken into custody in Maryland on Friday, and is now in custody, awaiting extradition to Delaware.

He will be charged with Murder First Degree, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, and Conspiracy First Degree. Detectives are actively investigating and seeking information on other suspects involved in the case.
