New York City Department of Corrections Employee Arrested for Driving Under the Influence

New York City – A 30-year-old male employee of the NYC Department of Corrections was arrested and charged with driving under the influence in the early hours of Monday, April 24th.

According to police reports, Justin Velez was off-duty when he was arrested by officers from the 5 Precinct.

Velez was found to be driving with a blood alcohol content of .08 of 1% which is above the legal limit. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and driving while ability impaired by alcohol.
