Woman fired gun from rooftop of public housing project in New York city

NEW YORK, NY – A woman who fired multiple shots from a gun atop a public housing project in New York City is being sought by police. The shooting took place at the Douglass Houses NYCHA complex, just blocks away from Central Park on New York’s west side.

The incident occurred on Friday, April 7, 2023, at approximately 5:10 pm within the confines of the 24 Precinct. According to reports, the unidentified female suspect discharged the firearm before fleeing the scene on foot.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported in connection with the incident.

The NYPD has released an image of the individual they believe to be responsible and are asking anyone with information to come forward.
