Eastern Shore woman wins $100k on lottery scratch-off ticket

SALISBURY, MD – An Eastern Shore woman identified only as “Momma Dukes” has won a $100,000 top prize on the $30 $100,000 Lucky scratch-off. This isn’t the first time the lucky player has scored a big win. In 2018, she won $100,000 on another scratch-off, and five years ago, she won the top prize on a Diamond 10s game.

“Momma Dukes” and her husband were at Thirsty’s, her favorite Lottery retailer in Salisbury, when they noticed a $100,000 Lucky scratch-off perched by itself in the dispenser. They decided to purchase it, and “Momma Dukes” scratched off the game in the store, matching one of the winning numbers on the first line.

The Salisbury resident works in the healthcare field with seniors and hasn’t yet decided how she will spend her winnings. However, one thing is for sure: Thirsty’s at 444 Snow Hill Road in Wicomico County has benefited from her Lottery luck. “I had all three of my winners at that same store,” she said.

The $100,000 Lucky game went on sale in September 2021, and this is the 33rd top-prize winner claimed, leaving 32 available, along with other prizes ranging from $30 to $5,000. For selling a top-prize winning scratch-off, the Salisbury retailer will receive a $1,000 bonus.
