Mount Joy man charged for assaulting juvenile during domestic feud

MOUNT JOY, PA – On Sunday, 25-year-old Shamari L. Young of Mount Joy was charged with aggravated assault, resisting arrest, and three additional charges following a domestic violence incident.

During the arrest for the incident, in which Young allegedly attempted to strangle an adult and struck a juvenile, the defendant reportedly grabbed the arresting officer and shoved him into a wall.

Young is now facing charges of aggravated assault, resisting arrest or other law enforcement, strangulation, simple assault-attempt, and grading victim under 12 with the defendant being 21 or older.


The incident occurred in the 100 Block of Merchant Avenue, Mount Joy.
