GALLOWAY TWP, NJ – New Jersey State Police Superintendent Colonel Patrick Callahan, along with the NJSP Mounted Unit, TEAMS Unit, and Aviation Unit, paid a visit to two elementary schools in Galloway, NJ yesterday. Smithville Elementary School and Arthur Rann Elementary School welcomed the state police units, and the students were thrilled to interact with the officers and their equipment.

The Mounted Unit brought their horses, which the students enjoyed petting and spending time with. Additionally, the students were able to climb on the Bearcat, a specialized armored vehicle used by the TEAMS Unit. The highlight of the visit was the Aviation Unit landing their helicopter on the playground, a rare sight for the students.

The NJSp said the students ‘loved to climb on the Bearcat’.

“We are grateful to Smithville and Arthur Rann Schools for allowing us to spend the day with them,” said Colonel Callahan. “It was a great opportunity for us to interact with the students and show them some of the equipment we use to keep our communities safe.”

The visit was an exciting and educational experience for the students, who were able to learn more about the important work of the New Jersey State Police and their specialized units.
