NEWPORT NEWS, VA – Last week, members of the NNPD Hispanic Citizen Police Academy received a comprehensive lecture on domestic violence, aimed at educating the public and raising awareness about the issue. The class was actively engaged and posed relevant questions, showing a strong interest in learning more about domestic violence.

Officer Camacho, the instructor, did an exceptional job explaining how domestic violence affects the community and what can be done to prevent it. Dr. Cheryl Chavers, a Domestic Violence Specialist, was also present to provide support and answer any questions from the participants.

The importance of raising awareness about domestic violence was highlighted during the lecture. Dr. Chavers stated, “Awareness about domestic violence helps to save lives. I could not be more impressed by Officer Camacho for the excellent job he did in leaving participants more aware about the dangers of domestic violence and what the community can do about it.”

The NNPD Hispanic Citizen Police Academy’s domestic violence class successfully delivered its message to the participants, leaving them more informed about domestic violence and better equipped to identify and prevent it.
