Police investigating after woman groped by man who followed her into Greenwich Village apartment

NEW YORK, NY – Detectives investigating a February assault in Greenwich Village have released a photo of the suspect wanted for the incident today.

The NYPD is asking the public for help in identifying a suspect who committed a forcible touching incident.

According to the NYPD, on February 26, around 8 pm, an unknown male followed a 24-year-old female into her apartment building, located near the intersection of Greenwich Street and Jane Street. The man reportedly approached the victim in a stairwell and touched her buttocks over her clothing.


The suspect then fled eastbound on Jane Street on foot. The victim did not suffer any injuries in the incident. The individual is described as a male in his 30s with a light complexion, approximately 5’10” in height, approximately 180 lbs in weight, with dark-colored eyes and hair.
