Westfield Police Officer Praised for Going Above and Beyond the Call of Duty

WESTFIELD – A resident is praising Officer Chris Forcenito of the Westfield Police Department for his actions that prevented a possible car theft. The resident, who wished to remain anonymous, sent an email to the department to commend Officer Forcenito for his actions on April 25, 2023, at the North Ave. parking area.

According to the email, the resident and their friend had left the car running while they went out to dinner, not realizing the potential danger. Fortunately, Officer Forcenito noticed the car and turned it off. He also left a note for the owner to explain the situation.

When the resident and their friend returned to the car, they found Officer Forcenito to explain what had happened. They were grateful for his efforts and praised him for his professionalism and desire to help people in the community.


The Westfield Police Department took to Facebook to share the email and acknowledge Officer Forcenito’s actions. They also expressed their pride in the department’s officers and commitment to keeping the community safe.
