Teen charged for triple-fatal crash in Staten Island

STATEN ISLAND, NY – A 17-year-old male has recently been arrested and charged with multiple counts of manslaughter, assault, and reckless endangerment following an ongoing investigation into a tragic vehicle collision that occurred on July 10, 2022. The incident took place at Hylan Boulevard and Richard Avenue within the confines of the 123 Precinct.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the 2018 Ford Mustang, driven by the accused, was traveling at an unsafe speed and collided with a 2017 GMC Yukon, resulting in three fatalities and multiple injuries.

The three deceased were identified as Fernanda Gil, 16; Jesie Gil, 15; and Ashley Rodriguez, 15.


The driver of the Ford Mustang was initially admitted to Staten Island University Hospital North in critical but stable condition. The 47-year-old male operator of the GMC Yukon and the four passengers inside sustained minor injuries and were also transported to the hospital.

The operator of the Yukon was taken into custody for a suspended driver’s license, with charges pending. The NYPD’s Highway Collision Investigation Squad is investigating the case.
