24-year-old taxi driver charged with rape of juvenile

SILVER SPRING, NJ – Police in Montgomery County have arrested and charged a 24-year-old man, Orlin Martinez Orellana, with second-degree rape and sex abuse of a minor.

Now, detectives are concerned about the possibility of additional victims and have released a photo of Martinez Orellana, urging anyone with any information to come forward.

According to the investigation by detectives, the incident occurred on January 2, when a juvenile victim contacted a taxi service to take her to meet a friend outside Montgomery County. However, Martinez Orellana picked her up and took her against her will to his residence in Silver Spring, where he raped her.


After identifying Martinez Orellana as the suspect, detectives located him in the 11500 block of Georgia Ave on Friday, April 28. Martinez Orellana was interviewed and made statements of involvement, following which he was transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit and charged with second-degree rape and sex abuse of a minor. He is being held without bond.

The detectives urge anyone with any information about Martinez Orellana or any similar incidents to contact them immediately.
