19-Year-Old Female VictimShot in Backyard, in Serious Condition

CHICAGO, IL – A 19-year-old woman was shot in the chest on Wednesday, while in her backyard in the 10200 block of S. Hoxie.

The unknown offender opened fire, striking the victim in the chest. The victim’s family members, who were inside the house at the time, heard the gunshot and immediately called emergency services.

The victim was transported to the University of Chicago Hospital in serious condition. The hospital staff is working diligently to stabilize her condition and provide the necessary medical treatment.

Area Two Detectives have launched an investigation into the incident and are currently searching for the suspect.

The motive for the shooting remains unknown.
