Police investigating deadly shooting int he Bronx

NEW YORKPolice are investigating a fatal shooting that happened at around 4:30 am on Saturday in the Bronx neighborhood of Belmont.

According to the NYPD, officers responded to a 911 call reporting that a male had been shot at 4371 Third Avenue.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers found that a 29-year-old male had been shot in the chest.

He was transported to Saint Barnabas Hospital by private means but was pronounced deceased shortly after his arrival. Police recovered a firearm at the scene, but no arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing.

The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of his family.
