Police arrest fugitive wanted for 2021 shooting at Bronx party

NEW YORK – The New York City Police Department has arrested and charged Trevor Prophet, a 24-year-old male, for attempted murder. He was taken into custody on Saturday at 11:00 pm in the north Bronx.

According to police, Prophet was involved in a shooting that occurred at 1418 Oakley Street during a party on October 17, 2021. During the party, an unidentified male got into a verbal dispute with a 58-year-old male, which escalated when the unidentified male followed the victim to the rear of the location and fired multiple shots at him.

Prophet was in the company of an unidentified female, and both fled the scene after the incident.

The victim sustained gunshot wounds to both his legs and buttocks and was transported to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi in stable condition. The police are still searching for the two suspects involved in the incident.
