NYPD seeking suspects in $100k diamond heist in NYC theater district

NEW YORK, NY – The New York City Police Department is seeking public help in identifying three individuals in connection with the theft of a suitcase of diamonds that occurred in Manhattan’s Theater District.

The incident occurred on Friday, April 28, 2023, at approximately 2:10 pm, in front of 261 West 47 Street. A 55-year-old male was changing his car tire when one of the suspects approached him, starting a conversation.

As the victim was engaged, a second suspect moved toward the vehicle and removed a suitcase from the backseat. The suitcase contained approximately $100,000 worth of diamonds and jewelry.


A third suspect acted as a lookout during the incident. Following the theft, the trio fled in a taxi and was last seen near the Queensboro Bridge.



The first suspect is described as a male with a light complexion, slim build, aged 30 to 40 years, and approximately 5’7” to 5’8” tall. The second suspect is described as a male with a light complexion, black hair, average build, aged 30 to 40 years, and approximately 5’6” to 5’7” tall. The third suspect is described as a female with a light complexion, black hair, average build, aged 30 to 40 years, and approximately 5’4” to 5’5” tall.
