Armed Robbery Suspect Faces Multiple Felony Charges in Hazelcrest

Chicago, Illinois – A 21-year-old man, identified as D’angelo Moore from the 17700 block of Dogwood Lane, has been arrested and charged with multiple felony offenses, including armed robbery and aggravated battery with the discharge of a firearm. The arrest came after an incident on May 15, 2023, at around 10:52 p.m. near the 3300 block of W. Beach Ave.

Moments before his arrest, Moore, along with accomplices, allegedly approached two women, aged 26 and 29, and forcefully seized their belongings at gunpoint.

However, the situation escalated when Moore fired his weapon, striking the 26-year-old victim and causing critical injuries. The incident took place in the 1900 block of N. Spaulding Ave., within the jurisdiction of the 14th District.


A quick response by the Chicago Police Department led to the arrest of D’angelo Moore at the scene.

He was taken into custody without further incident. Subsequently, Moore has been charged with one felony count of armed robbery with a firearm, one felony count of aggravated battery involving the discharge of a firearm, and one felony count of attempted armed robbery with a firearm.

D’angelo Moore is scheduled to appear in Central Bond Court, located at 2600 S. California, on May 17, where the charges against him will be formally presented.
