SEASIDE HEIGHTS, NJ – A violent dog attack in Seaside Heights was interrupted by three men, but not after a vicious dog attacked three others, including a 7-year-old child.

Police here say the three men came to the rescue during a dog attack that left a 7-year-old boy and two adults injured while walking along the Boulevard on Sunday.

The incident occurred around 1:30 p.m. near Hotel Charlee Villas at 1211 Boulevard as the adults and the boy were walking, according to a statement made by Seaside Heights Detective Steve Korman.

Upon arrival, police discovered the three victims, who had been bitten, on the stairs of the Villas.

Three men had managed to restrain the dog, identified as a Cane Corso, by lying on top of it.

Police determined that the dog had escaped from a room where its owner, identified as Bobbi Dunn from Beachwood, was located. Patrolman Joseph Funicelli issued summonses to Dunn for having a dog at large, an uncontrolled dog, and an unlicensed dog.

The victims, a 35-year-old woman from South Toms River, a 35-year-old man from Williamstown, and the 7-year-old boy from South Toms River, received immediate treatment at the scene.

Seaside Heights animal control took custody of the dog.

Tri-Boro First Aid then transported them to Community Medical Center in Toms River, stated Korman. The woman sustained a severe laceration on her right hand and left forearm, the man had a bite on his right arm, and the boy had a bite on his left forearm.

All three were treated and released.
