Newark Police Seek Public’s Help Identifying Armed Robbery Suspect

NEWARK, NJ – The Newark Public Safety Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a male suspect involved in an armed robbery that took place on Sunday, May 7, 2023.

The incident occurred around 7:20 p.m. in the 100 block of Bloomfield Avenue, where a woman and her child were robbed at gunpoint.

The suspect made off with $500 in cash, the victim’s cell phone, and her purse containing credit cards and other personal belongings.


The suspect is described as Hispanic, 5’6” tall, and was wearing all-black clothing and a ski mask at the time of the incident. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Newark Public Safety Department.
