Newark Business Robbery Suspect Sought

NEWARK, NJ – Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé has asked for the public’s assistance in identifying a male suspect involved in a business robbery that took place on Friday.

The incident occurred around noon at the Metro PCS store located at 494 Springfield Avenue. The suspect entered the store, demanding the store employees to hand over cell phones while implying he had a gun concealed in his sweat jacket pocket. He successfully stole six iPhones from a safe before fleeing on foot in the direction of Kent Street and Brenner Street.

Detectives are currently seeking assistance in identifying the suspect, who is described as a Black male with a dark complexion, about 5’8″ tall, with dreadlocks and slight facial hair, wearing all-black clothing.
