Man slashed inside Lower East Side laundromat

NEW YORK, NY – The New York City Police Department is conducting an investigation into an assault that happened on Wednesday, around 8:43 am. The victim, a 37-year-old male, was inside the Wash Rite Laundromat at 112 East 4 Street, when he was attacked from behind and slashed across the neck with an unknown object. The suspect then fled on foot southbound on 1 Avenue and eastbound on 3 Street. The victim was transported by EMS to Mount Sinai Beth Israel in stable condition.

The suspect is described as a male with a medium to dark complexion, slim build, curly hair, and approximately 5’8” tall. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt and gray shorts.
