Montgomery County, MD – An early morning collision between a Maryland state trooper’s patrol vehicle and a driver suspected of impairment has left the trooper hospitalized with injuries. The incident took place in a highway construction zone in Montgomery County.

The injured trooper, who is assigned to the College Park Barrack, was performing traffic control duties within a work zone area on the inner loop of I-495 at University Boulevard. The trooper had activated his emergency lights at the time of the collision. He was promptly transported to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center via ambulance for medical treatment.

The driver of the white Mercedes SUV involved in the crash has been identified as Anthony Bowser, a 31-year-old resident of Washington, D.C. Their daily tasks are fraught with danger, and incidents like this underscore the need for heightened awareness and caution when navigating through such areas.
