OCEAN COUNTY, NJ – Matthew Robles, a 32-year-old resident of Lakewood, admitted guilt on May 15, 2023, in front of Honorable Guy P. Ryan, P.J.Cr.P., for Distribution of Child Pornography and Failure to Register as a Megan’s Law Offender. Upon sentencing, the state will recommend a seven-year term with a five-year period of parole ineligibility for the Child Pornography Distribution charge, and a three-year term for the Failure to Register as a Megan’s Law Offender charge.

These sentences are expected to run concurrently.

Robles was previously discovered by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Megan’s Law Unit to be employed locally in Brick Township without registration or notification of law enforcement agencies.

Upon a home visit on July 26, 2022, Parole Officers found images of child pornography on Robles’ phone and took him into custody.

After an investigation on his electronic devices, Robles was found sharing child pornography via WhatsApp. He is currently detained in New Jersey State Prison awaiting sentencing.
