Newark Police Seek Assistance in Identifying Vandalism Suspect

NEWARK, NJ – The Newark Public Safety Department is seeking public assistance in identifying a woman allegedly involved in an act of vandalism on Tuesday, April 11, 2023.

According to the report, the woman and her companion were requested to leave Applebee’s at 383 Springfield Avenue by an employee due to their disruptive behavior. Later, the employee discovered his rear tail light had been damaged. CCTV footage revealed the woman exiting a 2016 black, 4-door Honda Civic and using a blunt object to damage the employee’s vehicle.

Investigators have described the suspect as a Black female, wearing a gray sweatshirt, light-colored pants, black and white sneakers, and carrying a green purse. The Newark Public Safety Department urges anyone with information that can aid in the identification and capture of the suspect to come forward.
